When duty called, our veterans answered. Now it’s our turn.
More than 1,000 severely injured veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan need adapted housing — and the need is urgent.
An amputated limb, partial paralysis or a traumatic brain injury can turn everyday tasks — like cooking a meal or bathing a child — into daunting challenges. But a specially designed home can restore some of the freedom and independence our veterans sacrificed.
That’s why Local 49 is proud to put on the first-ever Local 49 Golf Classic to Benefit Homes For Our Troops on Monday, July 18. Golf is full, and thanks to our generous sponsors, we’ve already raised about $250,000.
Our goal is $300,000, and we’re asking members to help with any size donation they can afford — every penny will go to Homes For Our Troops, a nationally recognized nonprofit organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes for severely injured post-9/11 veterans.
Want to help? Visit local49golfclassic.org and use your credit or debit card to give what you can. In order to donate, you’ll be asked to sign in — simply create an account using your email address, or sign in with your Facebook or Google account.
Thank you for supporting those who sacrificed so much for us.
