Local 49 Scholarship

Ten grants of $2,500 each were awarded, and Local 49 is pleased to announce the following recipients:

1. Lainey Gill — daughter of Brother Kenneth Gill
2. Owen Lange — son of Brother Benjamin Lange
3. Kelly Maier — daughter of Brother Douglas Maier
4. Brooklyn Martin — daughter of Brother Douglas Martin
5. Sophie Morrison — daughter of Brother Steven Morrison
6. Olivia Opsahl — daughter of Brother Clayton Opsahl
7. Cheznee Skrien — daughter of Sister Crystal Skrien
8. Chloe Tocko — daughter of Brother Kevin Tocko
9. Hannah Tweten — daughter of Brother Brent Tweten
10. Kendra Westphal — daughter of Brother Michael Westphal

The two alternates chosen by the committee this year were:

• Alternate #1: Jordyn Scribner — daughter of Brother Christopher Scribner
• Alternate #2: Collin Popp — son of Brother Patrick Popp

Thanks to everyone who took the time to apply for the scholarship, and we encourage all those who are eligible to apply next year.

Please note: Fifteen scholarships will be awarded in 2027!

The deadline for all applications – must be received in Local 49’s Main Office postmarked by May 1st (each year).

A list of eligibility requirements is included with the Scholarship Application.

Applicants must be children or step-children of active members who are currently in good standing in Local 49, or a member in good standing. In the event a member dies, an applicant’s scholarship packet will be given the same consideration as all others providing the active member was in good standing at the time of death.

Applications are accepted any time between SEPTEMBER 1st through MAY 1st. If the application and all necessary documents that are required to be included are NOT COMPLETE, the Scholarship Committee will not consider the application.
