Construction Suicide Prevention Week is Sept. 8-12, 2025

The construction industry has one of the highest rates of suicide in the U.S., according to the CDC.

That’s why unions, employers and construction professionals across the country are observing Construction Suicide Prevention Week Sept. 8-12, 2025, to raise awareness of the problem AND the resources that can help.

This year’s theme is “Build Community.”

Every day, construction workers build roads, schools, churches and more — they build places of connection and community for others. But they can also build community with each other and support each other through hard times.

This year’s Construction Suicide Prevention Week pledge (download here) is to check in with someone this week and see how they are doing, then really listen to the answer. But don’t stop there! Set a reminder on your phone to check in with someone each month, week or even every day.

You can make a difference!
