Local 49 announced its 2025 scholarship recipients at the General Membership Meeting on May 21, 2025. Ten grants of $2,500 each were awarded this year, and Local 49 is pleased to announce the following recipients:
1. James Baird – son of Brother James S. Baird
2. Megan Cielinski – daughter of Brother Charles Cielinski
3. Samantha Halland – daughter of Brother Jeffery Halland
4. Kailysa Kohnen – daughter of Brother Eric Kohnen
5. Tucker Korpi – son of Brother Bert Korpi
6. Madison McCoy – daughter of Brother Dan McCoy
7. Kaija Neary – daughter of Brother Jody Neary
8. Isabella Richter – daughter of Brother Eric Richter
9. Alayna Szafranski – daughter of Brother Michael Szafranski
10. Nora Whipps – daughter of Brother Steven Whipps
The two alternates chosen this year were:
Alternate #1: Jett Olson – son of Brother Tony Olson; and
Alternate #2: Sophie Whipps – daughter of Brother Andy Whipps
