Stewards play a critical role in helping the union operate efficiently and effectively. Current stewards, members interested in becoming stewards, and members interested in understanding the role of stewards are invited to attend our steward training Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026.
Members working in all industries are welcome (construction, public sector, shops, etc.).
Topics include:
• Steward rights, roles and responsibilities.
• How to conduct a grievance investigation.
• Day-to-day problem solving.
Local 49 Steward training
What: Universal steward training (construction, public sector, shops, etc.)
When: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026, with food served at 5 p.m.
Where: Main Union Hall, 2829 Anthony Lane S., Minneapolis.
