The International Union of Operating Engineers Local 49 endorses Congressman Brad Finstad, a Republican from New Ulm, for reelection in Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District (see the formal press release here).
“Finstad is a committed public servant who understands the critical role of infrastructure projects in this hard-working rural district,” Local 49 Business Manager Jason George said. “He knows projects like improving Highway 14 create good-paying jobs and make the community stronger. We believe Finstad will work to reduce bureaucratic red tape and streamline the permitting process so that much-needed road, bridge and energy projects in southern Minnesota don’t face unnecessary delays. We’re pleased to recommend Finstad to our members.”
Finstad spent three terms in the Minnesota House of Representatives and served as state director for USDA rural development in Minnesota. In August he won a special election to fill the remainder of late Rep. Jim Hagedorn’s term, which ends in January 2023.
Local 49 takes a bipartisan approach to politics, endorsing candidates from both sides of the aisle who support its members and their jobs.Local 49 endorses Finstad for Congress
