WHO SUPPORTS YOUR JOBS?

Local 49 has endorsed candidates in many races in our jurisdiction. We’ve included the list below. These elected offices have real impact on your jobs and union.

Local 49 endorses candidates based on their positions on issues important to our members’ jobs, support for projects that put our members to work, past voting history if they have held office, and whether the candidate seeks our endorsement. Local 49 doesn’t care which party a candidate belongs to — it simply isn’t a factor in our endorsement recommendations. Our endorsements are pretty evenly split between Republicans and Democrats, as reflected in the list below. Minnesota Senate seats are not on the ballot this year.

South Dakota ballot measure

Local 49 recommends a “yes” vote on Referred Law 21, also known as RL21. A “yes” vote will provide uniform regulation of carbon dioxide pipelines, helping to create thousands of construction jobs while providing tax relief for affected landowners. Learn more at yesonrl21.com.
