We learned late last week that the Fargo Flood Diversion project was awarded to a Spanish firm Acciona and their partners. A local union contractor Ames Construction, along with their partners, was the other bidder. Our members would have for sure been building this project if Ames was awarded it. At this point, we are unsure of how Acciona will proceed, but we will be reaching out to offer the services of the best trained and skilled operators in the nation. They will also have to have registered apprentices on the project, something we could provide through our signatory contractors. We are not giving up on this project, and we will continue to make the case that using local skilled union operators is what is best for this job and the Fargo community.
