Local 49 Donates $10,000 to Organizations Rebuilding Damaged Twin Cities’ Communities

The damage that took place last week left the Twin Cities in a state of devastation and destruction. Our neighbors are hurting, they have a long road to recovery, and they need our help.

Local 49 is committed to helping build a stronger community for our neighbors who are suffering, which is why the Executive Board unanimously approved a $5,000 donation to both the Hamline Midway Coalition’s Neighbors United Funding Collaborative and the Lake Street Council’s “We Love Lake Street” Fund. These organizations are solely focused on rebuilding the neighborhoods that have been affected by the recent destruction.

Local 49 Business Manager, Jason George, released the following statement:

“We have members that live and work in these communities, and Local 49 will be there every step of the way to help rebuild. Building infrastructure is what our members do every day, but we also take care of one another and the communities we call home. I am proud of the Executive Board’s decision to contribute to organizations that are focused on rebuilding the affected areas of Minneapolis and St. Paul, but I know our work has only just begun. Our members will continue to do what they do best, which is building strong and safe communities for all Minnesotans.”
