Local 49 Business Manager Jason George Speaks on Governor’s 2022 Local Jobs and Projects Plan

Jason George, Business Manager for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 49, released the following statement.

“We are excited to see Governor Walz put forward a bonding proposal that significantly invests in re-building every corner of our state, and we thank him for laying out a bold plan.  With a strong economic outlook, the state has a historic opportunity to invest in our communities. Roads, bridges, wastewater, and other critical infrastructure are essential to our future success and key to economic prosperity for all of us.

We look forward to working with leaders from both party’s in the House and Senate, and the Governor, to come up with a robust infrastructure investment bill that Minnesota needs and deserves. Local 49 is very proud of our bi-partisan approach to politics, and no one in this state is better positioned to help push both sides to get this critical work done this session.”
