Pancreatic Cancer

One of the members of Local 49 and a longtime employee of Annandale Contracting was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. He was scheduled for major surgery at the end of the week. While going over the situation regarding this employee with Local 49 Business Agent Jack Kocak, Jack told us about the Patient Advocacy program that the Local 49's Health plan has and what they provide. We passed the information on to our 49er so that he could obtain their assistance. Health Systems Management provided research for the 49er on the status of his Doctor, as well as made contacts on his behalf to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. I wanted to take a moment to thank-you for providing this service. Health Systems Management was excellent in providing information and opening doors on our employees (the Local 49ers) behalf.
